Camp Coley Cookies and Cocoa January 2019
On January 12, 2018 we will hold our annual pizza party and have fun day.
Cookies and cocoa will be served in the afternoon. The day is a fun mix of things to do with no set schedule. Craft items are made for ourselves to bring home. Each year we select an organization in our community that can benefit from items we make at our three Camps throughout the year. Board games, as well as a variety of other games are sprinkled in throughout the day as well.
Camp Coley June 2018
Our biggest event of the year is a weekend day camp in June for girls ages 11 to 15. Camp Coley 2018 will be on Saturday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 24th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day at Oakwoods Lodge in Veteran Acres Park.
Saturday's theme will be "All About Me" and participants will do various exercises to get to know one another and learn about themselves. We also have arts and crafts , games, activities and presentations.
Sunday's theme will be "About Others" and is dedicated to making items for others, doing a service project, team building activities and understanding each girls' importance as part of the world around them. We will make items that benefit our
selected organization for the year. Arts, crafts, games, activities and presentations fill out our day.
Camp Coley Crafts and Community November 2018
On November 3, 2018 we will have a craft day where the girls will focus on one primary craft that benefits an organization in our community. In 2015, we made 100 fleece blankets benefiting PADS and TLS Veterans. In 2016, we made and painted cloth gift bags and wrapped gifts for the CASA organization. In 2017, we made weighted pads for Alexander Leigh Center for Autism, our goal is 65. The primary craft for 2018 will benefit those in our community that are in need.
Camp Coley Library
We have also started a library of books relevant to this age group and addressing some of the issues girls their age face. The participants may go to the Camp Coley Library pages of this website and browse our collection of books. If they see a book they would like to borrow, they may then go to the Book Check-Out Form page, fill out the Book Check-Out Form and the book will be hand-delivered to their mailbox. When they are ready to return the book, they may then go to the Book Return Request Form page and the book will be picked-up by one of our members.
