The NDJ Foundation Scholarship
Mission Statement
To fund educational opportunities for young women who were past participants in The Nicole Daune Jackson (NDJ) Foundation’s Camp Coley.
Scholarship Award
Scholarships will be awarded to fund:
-- Part or full-time post-high school study in the pursuit of an undergraduate or
graduate degree at an accredited two or four-year college or university,
-- Enrollment in a Certificate Program at an accredited institution, or
-- Enrollment in a vocational, trade school or other similar institution.
Scholarships may be used for tuition, books and fees and will be paid directly to the educational institution. Scholarships are renewable one time and the applicant must have been a Volunteer Helper the summer prior to re-application.
Eligibility
The applicant must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for a scholarship:
-- Earned a high school diploma, GED or equivalent certification;
-- Be a past participant in the NDJ Foundation’s two-day Camp Coley;
-- Complete one or more book reports on books read from the NDJ Library;
-- In the years following graduation from Camp Coley return as a Volunteer
Helper to:
o assist with set-up and clean-up,
o interact with and engage participating campers and,
o help with presentations, demonstrations and/or attend planning meetings;
-- Complete application and interview with the NDJ Scholarship Board.
Timetable
Applications must be received by July 1st each year.
